Setting up your DrayTek Vigor 166

Updated this week

The DrayTek Vigor 166 functions as a modem by bridging a G.Fast (SOGFAST) connection directly to a connected device, such as a router, firewall, network appliance, or PC.

Setup

Using an RJ-11 cable, connect the DSL port of the Vigor 166 to your DSL wall socket or microfilter.

If you’re using a TP-Link VX230v - Connect the WAN port of the TP-Link VX230v to the P1 or P2 LAN port of the Vigor 166 using an RJ-45 cable. The VX230v will then automatically handle internet authentication and routing.

If you are not using a TP-Link VX230v - Connect the P1 or P2 LAN port on the Vigor 166 to your router’s Ethernet (WAN) port using an RJ-45 cable.

Internet Configuration

The Vigor 166 automatically bridges the internet connection established by your router. As the router you ordered through Daisy will be preconfigured with the required authentication details (username and password), no manual setup is needed.

💡If you ordered your router through Daisy and need assistance, please contact our expert, UK-based Technical Support team on 0333 320 0999.

If your router was not purchased through Daisy, it is unlikely to be preconfigured for internet access, and we’re unable to provide support for configuring third-party devices. For assistance, please contact the manufacturer or supplier of your router.
