Box Contents
When you receive your ATA, the box will contain:
Grandstream ATA (e.g. HT801/HT802/HT812)
Power adaptor
Ethernet cable
Analog phone (standard home or office phone)
Set Up
To connect to the internet, plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN or WAN port on the ATA. Plug the other end into your router or network switch. Plug the power adaptor into the ATA and a power outlet. Wait 1 to 2 minutes for the Power and Internet lights to turn solid. Plug your analogy phone into the Phone 1 port on the back of the ATA.
Pick up the handset on your phone. You should hear a dial tone. If you do not hear a dial tone, double check all connections, and that the ATA's light are on.
Once you have connected everything and have a dial tone, make a test call. If the call connects, your ATA is set up correctly. If the call does not connect, try again after a few minutes.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
No power lights | Ensure the power adaptor is connected and the plug socket works. |
No dial tone | Check the phone cord is firmly plugged into Phone 1. Restart the ATA. |
No internet/network light | Ensure the Ethernet cable is connected to your router. Try another port. |
Unable to make calls | Wait 2 to 3 minutes after powering up for the ATA to register. Check your internet connection. |
Poor call quality | Check for a strong internet connection. Avoid heavy network usage during calls. |
